Police arrested a man for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in Dharmapur area under Fatikchhari upazila in Chattogram last night (5 April).

The arrestee was identified as Mohammad Jamal Uddin, 45, a resident of Shukkur Ahmed's New House in Ward No- 1 of Dharmapur Union in the upazila.

Confirming the incident, Nur Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Fatikchhari Police Station, told The Business Standard, "Locals detained Jamal Uddin while he was attempting to rape an 11-year-old girl on Saturday morning.
