The detainee is Monir Hossain from Dakuria Uttarpara village in Manirampur upazila

Police detained a fuchka vendor in connection with the sickness of over 200 people who allegedly ate the street snack sold by him in Jashore's Abhaynagar upazila on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The detainee is Monir Hossain from Dakuria Uttarpara village in Manirampur upazila.
Abhaynagar Police Station's Inspector (investigation) Shuvro Prokash Das said they detained him from his village on Wednesday night, two days after the incident.
One of the victims - Maulana Tanjim Hossain - filed a case against him under the Food Safety Act with the police station after the detention, the OC said.
On 31 March, over 200 people, including women and children, fell sick after allegedly eating fuchka at an Eid fair in Abhaynagar.
Of them, 100 victims were admitted to Abhaynagar Upazila Health Complex.
Hundreds of visitors eat fuchka from the shop at the fair on Eid day.
Upon returning home, they experienced stomach pain, diarrhoea, vomiting, and convulsions, forcing them to be hospitalised overnight and by Tuesday.
Dr Raghuram Chandra, a physician at the Khulna Medical College and Hospital (KMCH), said that food contamination caused sickness with most patients suffering from stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, and fever.
