Over 15 lakh taxpayers file income tax returns online

The number of income tax returns filed online has surpassed 15 lakh for the 2024-2025 tax year.
At the same time, the number of registrations for online return filing has surpassed 19 lakh, according to a press release sent by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) today (19 March).
Taxpayers can use the NBR's website, www.etaxnbr.gov.bd, to conveniently file their income tax returns for this year, read the release.
The online system lets them download and print submitted returns, acknowledgement receipts, income tax certificates, and TIN certificates.
Furthermore, taxpayers can pay their dues through internet banking, debit/credit card transactions, and mobile banking.
The NBR has also ensured round-the-clock support via call centres and email.
To further improve the e-return system, the NBR has hosted a workshop titled "Identifying and Resolving Issues in the E-Return System", inviting stakeholder feedback for system enhancements.
In the release, the NBR expressed its appreciation to taxpayers who have embraced online tax return filing. It encouraged more individuals to utilise these digital services to submit returns and obtain tax certificates.
