Court orders seizure of ex-army officer Nazim Uddin’s income tax records

A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of income tax records of Lieutenant General (retd) Md Nazim Uddin, his wife Aziza Taher and their son Mohammad Jayem Bin Nazim amid an ongoing investigation into corruption allegations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz issued the order today (2 March) following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), confirmed court bench assistant Md Riaz Hossain.
On behalf of the ACC, Assistant Director Akhtaruzzaman filed the application seeking seizure of the documents.
According to the petition, an investigating officer has been appointed to probe allegations that Md Nazim Uddin acquired assets beyond his known sources of income.
The petition stated that, to ensure a fair investigation, certified copies of the income tax records of the accused and his family, including year-wise returns from 2013–2014 to 2025–2026 and all related documents, must be reviewed.
