The mother of three children was allegedly raped by a youth while the incident was filmed by his cohorts in Narsingdi's Raipura upazila on Sunday night.

The accused Rakib Miah, 32, is a resident of Rahimabad village of the upazila and is known as a drug dealer and addict.

According to complaints lodged with the additional superintendent of police (admin and finance) Kalimullah, the accused raped the 40-year-old woman at her house on Sunday night and looted her ornaments.

Two cohorts of the accused filmed the incident and threatened the victim not to disclose the matter, if disclosed she would face dire consequences.

Recording the allegations, the police official ordered the Officer-in-Charge of the police station concerned to take legal action in this regard.

OC Adil Mahmud said they launched an operation to detain the accused following a directive from the higher authority.
