Currently, 497 dengue patients are receiving treatment in hospitals in Khulna, which is about 15 percent of the total hospitalised dengue patients in the country

The number of dengue patients in hospitals across Khulna are falling in Khulna division, after experiencing the highest number of dengue cases in hospitals over the last few days; during this period, hospitals in Khulna received more dengue patients than the hospitals in the capital. 

This year, 1,020 people have been hospitalised with the disease in Khulna division.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 497 dengue patients are receiving treatment in hospitals in Khulna, the number being about 15 percent of the total hospitalised dengue patients in the country.

Of the total 3,226 dengue patients who are receiving treatment in hospitals: 353 are in Dhaka, 102 in Mymensingh, 255 in Chattogram, 497 in Khulna, 160 in Rajshahi, 187 in Barishal, 43 in Rangpur, and 37 are in Sylhet division. 

According to DGHS, of the total 761 new dengue patients, 447 patients have been admitted in hospitals outside Dhaka in last 24 hours, while 314 are undergoing treatment in hospitals in Dhaka.

A total of 76,514 patients with the mosquito-borne disease have been admitted in hospitals across the country since January of this year; of them, 73,091 patients returned home after recovery, DGHS said.

The DGHS has so far confirmed 60 deaths from dengue. Sylhet division has been identified as the division with the lowest rate of occurrence of dengue.
