Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has said the railway authorities will not increase the number of trains during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

The minister said this while visiting several railway projects under Gazipur area today.

He said currently 17 pairs of passenger trains are running following necessary health guidelines and directives of the authorities concerned.

The minister also inspected the platform renovation work of the Airport Railway Station and the construction work of the boundary of the station.

Talking to reporters there, the minister said there would be a double line from Joydebpur to Ishwardi and Jamalpur.

Besides, work is underway on the 4th line from Dhaka to Tongi and double line from Tongi to Joydebpur.

The same passenger trains will run during the Eid-ul-Azha this year, he added.

The minister said fencing projects were underway at stations so that no one can enter without tickets.
