Political motive also behind deteriorating law and order situation: Adviser Asif Mahmud

Not only terrorists or extortionists there are also political efforts behind deteriorating law and order situation in the country, said Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, adviser to the ministry of Sports as well as the Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives adviser. 

"The top terrorists who are out on bail have people who support them. They may be organising groups. They will be monitored and law enforcement officers will arrest them if necessary," he said

However, besides terrorists, there are also political efforts behind the deterioration of the law and order situation, Asif Mahmud said.

"Sometimes we see instructions being given to various groups of the Awami League to worsen the situation in the country, so that people say Hasina's rule was better," he added.

Whether it is political or for extortion, anyone who tries to worsen the law and order situation in the country will not be spared, said Asif.

The adviser also said, small crimes are increasing, but big crimes are significantly decreasing. The law and order situation has improved in the last six months.

Small crimes will also significantly decrease due to our law and order forces addressing them, assured Asif Mahmud.
