Leader of 'Maura Group' Sohel, associate arrested in Adabar: RAB

The RAB today (25 February) arrested two individuals from Mohammadpur's Adabar area in the capital for their involvement in criminal activities.
According to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), one of the arrested individuals is Md Sohel alias Maura Sohel, 25, the head of the "Maura Group" and a leader of a teen gang, which operated in the Adabor area.
The other arrestee was identified as Sohel's associate Md Alal Hossain, 19.
RAB also recovered local weapons, one samurai, one knife, and two mobiles from their procession.
Khan Asif Topu, senior assistant director of RAB-2, said on a tip-off, they learned that 8/10 robbers in the Adabar area were preparing to commit robbery with weapons.
"Following this, a RAB-2 team conducted an operation in the area and arrested Sohel alias and Alal. Initial interrogation revealed that Sohel is the head of the 'Maura Group' and has 20-25 members. He runs a teen gang in the Adabor area, and various criminal activities including extortion, robbery, drug dealing, and snatching are carried out under his leadership.
There are several robbery cases against Sohel with the Adabor Police Station, the RAB official said.
