Walton represents Bangladesh on the global stage: ICB Chairman
Walton is representing Bangladesh on the global stage, remarked Professor Abu Ahmed, renowned economist, capital market expert, and Chairman of the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB).
He made this statement after visiting Walton Headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur. The ICB Chairman highlighted Walton's state-of-the-art, eco-friendly manufacturing facilities and its success in producing a wide range of electronic products. He noted that Walton's presence is now in every household in Bangladesh and that its products are being exported to over 40 countries, where their quality and competitive pricing are well recognised.
The visit was attended by Md. Abul Hossain, recently retired Managing Director of ICB, and Mahmuda Akter, Chief Executive Officer of ICB Asset Management Company Limited. They were warmly received with floral greetings by Md. Yusuf Ali, Additional Managing Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, and Md. Rafiqul Islam, FCS, Deputy Managing Director.

The delegation toured Walton's product display centre and observed production units for metal casting, compressors, refrigerators, televisions, and various other electronics.
After the tour, Professor Abu Ahmed praised Walton's role in reducing import dependence and boosting exports, positioning it as a key contributor to the country's socioeconomic development. He also emphasised Walton's position as one of Bangladesh's top taxpayers.
Regarding recent false propaganda against Walton on social media, ICB Chairman dismissed the claims, stating, "Those who criticise should instead establish a manufacturing industry like Walton and set an example. What matters is whether Walton maintains product quality, offers affordable prices to consumers, and provides good dividends for shareholders. Walton has consistently excelled in all these areas."
