2 Chhatra League leaders arrested with foreign pistols in Ctg

Police arrested two young men with foreign pistols from the Firingi Bazar Bridge Ghat area under Kotwali Police Station in Chattogram yesterday evening (22 February).
Both arrestees, Imran Ali Masud and Mansur Ali, are leaders of the banned student organisation Chhatra League.
"We conducted a special raid acting on a tip-off and arrested the two individuals with two foreign-made pistols. One of the firearms was loaded with five rounds of ammunition, while the other had four rounds. Both of them are former leaders of the Chhatra League," said Md Abdul Karim, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
Imran Ali Masud previously served as the deputy finance secretary of the Chattogram City Chhatra League and was also the former organisational secretary of the Chattogram Commerce College Chhatra League.
Mansur Ali, on the other hand, was the former public education secretary of the port city's Chhatra League and the former president of the Chhatra League unit at Islamia College.
The OC said legal action against the suspects is currently underway.
