DIU and DIPTI to host Bangladesh’s first AI Olympiad on April

Daffodil International University (DIU) and Daffodil International Professional Training Institute (DIPTI) will jointly organise AI Olympiad Bangladesh 2025 on April 12, 2025.

This pioneering initiative of DIU and DIPTI aims to promote AI-driven innovation, research, and education in Bangladesh for the first time. Detailed information about the organisation of the Olympiad and its unique features was presented today, February 18 2025 (Tuesday), at the "Meet the Press" event organised at the 71 auditorium of Daffodil Plaza in Dhanmondi of the capital.

Professor Dr. Syed Akhtar Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology of Daffodil International University, highlighted various aspects of the Olympiad at the "Meet the Press" program. Dr Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer of Daffodil Family, was the chief guest at the `Meet the Pres' programme. Dr. Mohammed Nadir Bin Ali, Registrar of Daffodil International University, presided over the `Meet the Press'. Professor Dr. Shaikh Md also addressed the `Meet the Press'. All year, Proctor and Professor of the Department of Multimedia and Creative Technology of Daffodil International University, Mr Rathindra Nath Das, Executive Director of DIPTI and Convener AI Olympiad 2025.

It was informed in the press conference that Bangladesh is now on the threshold of the fourth industrial revolution, where artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an important role. In today's world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming industries, economies, and societies at an unprecedented pace. Aiming to expose the young generation of Bangladesh to this technology and enhance their skills, develop future AI leaders, fill the gap in AI education, encourage new AI-based innovations and move Bangladesh forward in the global AI competition, Daffodil International University and Daffodil International Professional Training Institute are going to organise this Olympiad for the first time in the country.

Organisers also informed us that the AI ​​Olympiad will be a public competition featuring project presentations showcasing AI-based solutions. Expert panel discussions will feature AI industry leaders, and training workshops will teach the latest AI technologies. Besides, there will be prizes and scholarships for the best AI innovators.
