Police have recovered a bag containing five locally made pipe guns from a pond in Babuganj, Barishal.

The discovery was made around 12:30om today (12 February) from the northeastern corner of the Khan family pond, located in Rahmatpur Union Parishad.

According to eyewitnesses, a group of primary school children found a bag near the pond and started carrying it away thinking there were toys inside the bag. Upon noticing this, women from the Khan household intervened and immediately informed the police.

Responding to the call, officers from the Airport Police under the Barishal Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene, recovered the weapons, and transported them to the station for further investigation.
