Serov academy celebrates 160th anniversary

On 24 January 2025, the Russian House in Dhaka, in cooperation with the Serov Academy of Fine Arts, successfully hosted a grand event to commemorate the 160th birth anniversary of the renowned Russian artist Valentin Serov.

The event featured a certificate and prize distribution ceremony for participants of the art workshop and competition titled "Tradition-Heritage of Russia" held earlier on 18 January. Around 150 students participated in the competition, divided into five groups. Each participant received a Certificate of Participation, while 21 outstanding students were awarded memorable prize souvenirs for their exceptional creativity and skill.

The programme was graced by the Director of the Russian House in Dhaka Mr Pavel Dvoychenkov, who distributed the awards and shared inspiring remarks. Associate Professor of the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Development Alternative, Ms. Sharbari Roy Chowdhury also encouraged and congratulated the participants.

The event concluded with a brief cultural program celebrating the artistic spirit and dedication of the young talents who embraced the legacy of Valentin Serov, a luminary of Russian art.

The Russian House in Dhaka continues to foster cultural, educational, and scientific exchanges between Russia and Bangladesh through various activities and programme's.
