Southeast Bank partners with MetLife for employee group insurance

Southeast Bank PLC has recently signed an agreement with MetLife Bangladesh to provide comprehensive group insurance coverage for its employees and their dependents. The agreement was exchanged at the Bank's Head Office by Mr. Nuruddin Md. Sadeque Hossain, Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC, and Mr. Ala Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of MetLife Bangladesh.

The group insurance package includes life insurance for 3,100 permanent employees and sub-staff, covering natural death, permanent total disability, permanent partial disability, and double coverage in the event of accidental death. It also offers group medical insurance for in-patient hospitalisation, extended in-patient care for 14 critical illnesses such as cancer, stroke, and heart attack, and group maternity insurance for in-patient maternity expenses, including caesarean delivery, normal delivery, and miscarriage. This coverage extends to employees, their spouses, and two children under the age of 23.

Southeast Bank selected MetLife as its insurance provider due to MetLife's strong track record in claims settlement, tailored solutions, advanced dashboard, cashless hospitalisation, ambulance services, and financial strength, ensuring swift and hassle-free claims processing.

Mr. Nuruddin Md. Sadeque Hossain remarked that the newly introduced group insurance facility would ensure quality, affordable healthcare for employees and their families, offering protection against unexpected medical costs and providing financial security and peace of mind. He noted that this initiative aligns with the Bank's 30th Anniversary celebrations, under the theme "A Journey of Maturity, Stability and Consolidation," and would motivate employees to contribute to the bank's ongoing success.

Mr. Ala Ahmad highlighted that Southeast Bank's provision of insurance coverage for its employees and their families marks a significant milestone in its 30-year journey, reinforcing MetLife's commitment to supporting organisations and individuals in building a secure future with its world-class insurance services.

Senior officials from both organisations, including Mr. Abidur Rahman Chowdhury and Mr. Masum Uddin Khan, Deputy Managing Directors of Southeast Bank PLC, and Mr. Jafar Sadeque Chowdhury, Additional Managing Director & Chief Distribution Officer, along with Mr. Ala Uddin, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of MetLife Bangladesh, attended the signing ceremony.
