The number of online income tax return submissions has crossed 10 lakhs while the number of registrations for online return filing has crossed 16 lakhs.

According to the National Board of Revenue (NBR), using the website www.etaxnbr.gov.bd, individual taxpayers can easily and quickly submit their income tax returns for the tax year 2024-2025 online and download and print copies of the submitted returns, receipts, income tax certificates, TIN certificates.

At the same time, taxpayers are getting the benefits of tax payment and tax adjustment (Adjustment of Tax Refund) through internet banking, card payment (debit/credit card) and mobile banking. Round-the-clock support is being provided through call center and e-mail in this regard, said an NBR release.

The e-Return Registration process has already been made more taxpayer-friendly. To successfully register in e-Return, the taxpayer needs a Biometric SIM registered with his/her National Identity Card.

Anyone can easily check whether the mobile number used by the taxpayer is Biometric Registered with his/her National Identity Card or not by dialing *16001#.

Also, as part of the simplification of the online return filing process, the Revenue Board has taken special measures for those taxpayers who, despite having a National Identity Card, could not get a Biometric Mobile SIM due to lack of fingerprints and therefore are unable to register in the e-Return System.
