Bangladesh's Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said that the United Nations has to agree to the plan of relocating Rohingya refugees to Bhasan Char or it can take them away.
He was giving an interview with Deutsche Welle where he talked about Rohingya relocation and the UN’s failure.
He expressed disappointment about the lack of enough international pressure on Myanmar to take back the Rohingya who are currently camped in Cox’s Bazar.

The Bangladesh government is seeking aid from United Nation agencies for its plan to relocate 100,000 refugees to a remote island in the Bay of Bengal.

On being asked how the UN would react to it, the foreign minister said that the UN has to agree to the plan or it can take the refugees with them.
He further explained that the number of Rohingya refugees in the area is more than double the number of local citizens. Local residents are increasingly complaining of criminal activities, therefore the Bangladesh government could force their relocation.
He also added that Bangladesh is not a rich nation. It is the world's most densely populated country. Still it has done a lot for the Rohingya. It's time for others to come forward because it is not just Bangladesh’s problem.
It's an international issue, and had Bangladesh not given them protection, they could have become victims of genocide.
