Bangladesh's U-19 women's team delivered another dominant performance, crushing Malaysia by 120 runs to advance to the Super Four stage as Group A champions in the U-19 Women's Asia Cup.

The match took place on 17 December at the Bayuemas Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, where Bangladesh bowled the hosts out for a paltry 29 runs.

Having already secured victory against Sri Lanka in their opening match, the young Tigresses wrapped up the group stage unbeaten, showcasing their dominance ahead of the Super Four fixtures.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Bangladesh posted a formidable total of 149 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Jannatul Mawa was the standout performer with an unbeaten 45 off 45 balls, anchoring the innings at a critical phase. Sadia Akter provided a late surge, smashing 31 runs off just 19 balls. Together, the duo added 62 crucial runs for the sixth wicket after Bangladesh were struggling at 87 for 5.

The innings began steadily as openers Fahmida Chaya (26 off 21 balls) and Mosammat Eva (19 off 16 balls) laid a solid foundation. Captain Sumaiya Akter also contributed 12 runs off 11 deliveries to keep the momentum going.

Chasing a target of 150, Malaysia's batters were completely dismantled by Bangladesh's disciplined bowling attack. Nishita Akter Nishi produced a career-best performance, picking up 5 wickets for just 3 runs in 3.5 overs. Her spell left Malaysia reeling as the hosts struggled to build any partnerships.

Medium pacer Habiba Islam added to the collapse, taking 3 wickets for 5 runs, while leg-spinner Anisa Akter chipped in with 2 wickets for just 5 runs. Malaysia's top-scorer was opener Nur Alia Binti Mohammad Hairun, who managed only 5 runs. Three batters were dismissed for ducks, and the innings ended in 14.5 overs with Malaysia totalling just 29 runs.

Bangladesh now head into the Super Four stage alongside India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. They will face India and Nepal on 19 and 20 December, respectively, with the top two teams advancing to the final on 22 December.
