Two NBR officials suspended over taking bribes in Ctg
The two officials were suspended to ensure a fair and impartial investigation into the allegations, says the suspension order

Two officials of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) have been suspended over allegations of receiving bribes from service seekers in Chattogram.
The officials are: Abdul Alim, an assistant revenue officer (ARO) of the Agrabad Division under Customs, Excise and VAT, Chattogram, and Md Shahriar Rahman, a junior-level uniformed official (Sipahi) at the Chattogram Customs House.
The Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate office in Chattogram issued an order Sunday (27 July), suspending ARO Abdul Alim.
Earlier, on 24 July, a separate order from the Chattogram Customs House suspended Md Shahriar Rahman on similar charges of bribery.
Both suspension orders stated, "Specific information has been received from reliable sources regarding bribes taken from representatives of service recipients and exporters-importers, and the authenticity of the incidents has been primarily established."
The orders further noted that the two officials were suspended to ensure a fair and impartial investigation into the allegations.
Two separate videos showing the individuals accepting money went viral on social media, prompting the authorities to take action against them.
