Single-window digital trade hits a milestone: NBR
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is implementing the system to speed up international trade online

The number of automatically issued certificates, licenses and permits (CLP) from the Bangladesh Single Window (BSW) System has crossed one lakh, authorities said on Wednesday.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is implementing the system to speed up international trade online.
As a partner in crossinh the milestone, the NBR congratulated the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), Directorate of Drug Administration (DGDA), Directorate of Explosives (DOEX), Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Bangladesh National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention (BNACWC), Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) and Department of Environment (DoE) for going Go-Live from 2 January.
To realise the full potential of the BSW, it is crucial for the NBR and the associated agencies to expedite the integration process, ensure system security, provide adequate training to stakeholders, and establish robust monitoring mechanisms to oversee the system's performance and address any emerging issues promptly.
While the launch of the BSW is a step in the right direction for Bangladesh's trade facilitation, the challenges observed during its rollout highlight the need for a more proactive and coordinated approach to project implementation, according to analysts.
