NBR seeks budget proposals for FY 2026-27
The NBR has requested various chambers and associations to submit their respective budget proposals in writing to the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) by 15 March 2026
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has sought budget proposals from taxpayers, trade bodies and other stakeholders for the upcoming 2026-27 fiscal year, aiming to formulate a participatory, pro-people and business-friendly budget.
In a press release issued today, the NBR said it has been preparing revenue policies as part of the government's overall budget formulation process and has consistently engaged with taxpayers, industrial and business associations, trade bodies, professional organisations, research institutions and members of the intelligentsia to gather opinions and recommendations.
To make the revenue collection programme for the 2026-27 fiscal year more meaningful, analytical and representative, the revenue authority expressed its interest in holding discussions with stakeholders and incorporating their views in the budget formulation process.
The NBR has requested various chambers and associations to submit their respective budget proposals in writing to the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) by 15 March 2026.
At the same time, stakeholders have been asked to send a soft copy of their proposals (in NikoshBAN format) to the NBR via email at nbrbudget2026@gmail.com.
The revenue board assured that all proposals received will be considered with due importance.
Organisations, institutions or offices that are not members of any chamber or association may also send their budget proposals directly to the NBR through
the same email address.
The NBR expressed hope that with the cooperation of all concerned, it would be possible to formulate a participatory, pro-people, industry, business, and taxpayer-friendly as well as revenue-potential budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
