Gold price raised again to record Tk1,82,810 per bhori in Bangladesh
The revised prices will be effective from today.

Within 24 hours, the price of gold has been increased again in the local market, hitting a new record in the country's history.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has hiked the price of 22-carat gold by Tk1,260 per bhori, setting the new rate at Tk1,82,810, according to a press release issued yesterday (8 September).
The revised prices will be effective from today.
Bajus said in the press release that the price of pure gold has gone up in the local market, prompting the fresh adjustment.
As per the new rate, the price of 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk1,74,505 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk1,49,567 per bhori, and traditional gold at Tk1,23,942 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Besides, Bajus mentioned that buyers will have to pay 5% government-fixed VAT and a minimum 6% making charge set by Bajus along with the selling price.
But the making charge may vary depending on jewellery design and quality.
Earlier, on 7 September, Bajus last adjusted the gold prices, raising Tk2,718 per bhori and setting the price of 22-carat gold at Tk1,81,550.
