Cattle markets ready to roll complying hygiene rules
The LGRD minister has urged people to buy and sell animals at markets following health safety guidelines
All the preparations have been taken to operate cattle markets across the country in compliance with the hygiene rules and social distancing measures to curb the spread of novel coronavirus.
Mayors of all the city corporations, divisional commissioners and others concerned including the public representatives have assured the fact at an online meeting with Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives (LGRD) Minister Md Tajul Islam on Thursday, reads a press release.
The minister arranged the meeting to ensure the proper management of cattle market, sacrifice of animals at the designated spots and speedy removal of the waste during Eid-ul-Adha, it adds.

Tajul Islam has instructed the public representatives and local administrations to ensure proper hygiene and other government guidelines in the cattle market, reads the press release.
The minister also urged people to buy and sell animals at the markets following the health safety guideline prepared by the health department.
"Local administration will set up cattle markets after assessing whether it is better-to set up a cattle market in a large area, or to set up small markets in different places," he added.
Requesting all to buy sacrificial animals from digital platforms to curb the spread of coronavirus, Tajul Islam said limited number of sacrificial animal markets has been set up across the country.
The minister also urged everyone, including public representatives, to remove the wastes of animals immediately after sacrificing animals at specific places, adds the statement.
"A television advertisement has been made to make people aware of how to comply with the health rules in the animal market. It will help in raising awareness among the people," he opined.
