The TOP500 ranks the world's 500 fastest supercomputers, with El Capitan, a $600 million system launched in 2024, taking the top spot as the most powerful. Built with AMD hardware by Hewlett Packard Enterprise for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, it operates with a power consumption of about 29,600 kW.
Note: PFlop/s means one quadrillion operations per second, used for supercomputer speed.
