In 2025, global electric vehicle (EV) sales rose to 21.47 million units from 17.67 million in previous year, marking a 21.5% increase driven by China and Europe despite a decline in North America. Meanwhile, in Bangladesh, only 178 EVs were imported in FY25, according to data from the National Board of Revenue, highlighting slower adoption.
