AUST hosts national robotics competition AUST Rover Challenge 2.0
Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) successfully hosted the second edition of its national robotics competition, AUST Rover Challenge 2.0, organised by the AUST Robotics Club. The event took place on 12–13 July 2025 and saw participation from over 100 university teams from across the country.
The competition featured five key segments- Mars Rover Challenge, Soccer Bot Challenge, Line Follower Robot Challenge, Project Showcasing (Hardware and Software), and Robo Olympiad. Each segment provided a practical platform for students to demonstrate their technical knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
A panel of judges comprising senior academics and industry experts evaluated the teams across all categories. A total prize pool of over BDT 1.5 lakh was awarded to recognise outstanding performance and innovation in the field of robotics.
In the Mars Rover Challenge, Project Altair was declared Champion. Team RoboBot V3 won the Soccer Bot Challenge, and Team Barcelona secured the top position in the Line Follower Robot Challenge. In the Project Showcasing segments, Team BUBT won in the Hardware category, while Team Develoop claimed the top spot in Software Showcasing. Mojumdar Fahim Rahman emerged as the winner of the Robo Olympiad, achieving the highest score in theoretical and technical evaluations.
Prime Bank served as the Title Sponsor for the event. Major support was also provided by Midland Bank, NTV, Daily Ittefaq, The Business Standard, bdapps, Ulterior Engineering International, RadioGear BD, Lead Academy, HOQUE Consultancy Bangladesh, Dhrubo Networks Limited, Ispahani, Savoy Ice Cream, Bombay Sweets, Cake 360°, PRAN Drinking Water, and Techtopia.
The organising team expressed appreciation for the extensive participation and stated that the competition was designed to foster cross-university collaboration, encourage innovation among young engineers, and contribute to the broader development of the country's technological landscape.
