BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia's coffin was first taken to her son Tarique Rahman's residence in Gulshan from Evercare Hospital this morning (31 December).
Family members, and BNP leaders and activists paid their last respects to her there.
Verses from the Holy Quran were recited at the time, with Tarique Rahman taking part in the recitation.
From there, Khaleda's remains were taken to the National Parliament grounds.
The namaz-e-janaza will be held at 2pm after Zohr prayers across the inner ground of the parliament, its outer premises, and the entire stretch of Manik Mia Avenue.
