Parking Koi?

Mr. Rashed Chowdhury was having a hard time to find out a parking space when he went for a conference at Banani. Getting late for a merger, he once thought of parking at an innaccurate place. The next moment he thought of the fine and stepped back.

Owning a car in a metropolitan city, with congested traffic and inadequate parking space like Dhaka, is an everyday hassle. What if you can get your hand on a magic wand and track down a parking space for your car then and there?

Parking Koi is such a service just for you. Get the app installed on your phone and it will show you the nearest and safest parking spaces within 2 km of your location, that simple.

Parking Koi is a platform that connects its customers with the nearby underutilised areas. Imagine, you have a spacious and unoccupied space or lawn in front of your house; but you do not have a car. You can simply rent it out on Parking Koi and the clients would put your unused space into use by parking their car. Parking Koi functions as a bridge between parking space owners and the subscribers.

The fringe benefit of signing up for the app is its security promise which not every parking place puts on the table. Every time we rest our cars at a place that is prohibited for parking, we get ourselves into trouble.

One of the co-founders and deputy managing director of Parking Koi, Arifur Rahman, emphasises on the security question, “All of our subscribers have to put up with an authentication process. We inquire into the information they provide through a lengthy procedure but never give up on safeguarding our customers.”

Parking Koi collaborates with a third-party security service provider that confirms the protection of the car no matter what. There are verified security guards, CCTV cameras running round the clock, and other required equipment to ensure your safety. If a mishap takes place despite all these endeavours, the company guarantees that you get the compensation.

Arifur Rahman and Rafat Rahman, two close friends, took note of parking difficulties of the car owners in this city. Thus, they came up with the idea of devising a platform which will offer a resolution, even if partial, to this problem.

They took part in the GP Accelerator Program 2018 with the idea and pulled it off with great panache. Later on, they took the idea right ahead and the rest is history.

Now Parking Koi services are available in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet. They have 52,000 well-pleased customers and on an average 800 to 900 subscribers taking the service on a regular basis.

Parking Koi would soon put the last nail to the sufferings of busy citizens like Rashed Ahmed who always struggle to find a suitable parking lot. Just switch on to the Play Store or Apple Store and get the app on your smartphone, leave the rest to them, and you are all fit for running into your work leaving the worry about safe parking behind.
