Toya’s bhuna khichuri

I was not much of a cook. Basically, I started cooking after getting married. I cannot say I am very good at it. But one recipe that I enjoy cooking is bhuna khichuri. People seem to like it.

I use khichuri mix sometimes while cooking. I also use lentil and rice as ingredients. Here is how I cook my bhuna khichuri.

Ingredients:

Polao rice- 1kg

Ghee- 2-3 table spoon

Turmeric

Mug Dal- 2 cups (must be fried)

Lentils

Beef

Ginger paste- 2 table spoon

Garlic paste- 3 table spoon

Onion paste- 4-5 table spoon

Cumin paste- ½ tea spoon

Oil

Green chilies

Salt

Bay leaves

Method:

Firstly, the meat should be washed well and cleaned. Then add ginger paste, garlic paste, onion paste and marinate it for 2-3 hours. After 2-3hours, take a pan, add oil in it, and add the meat in the oil. When the meat is sautéed, add rice in it along with bay leaves, hot spices, raw chilies and salt. After sautéing the beef, rice and spices together for 1-2 minutes, add warm water as needed and cover the pan with a lid.

When the khichuri is half done, lower the lid and cook for some time. When the water becomes thick, pour some ghee and cover it again and leave it on low heat for 20-30 minutes. When done, serve the delicious bhuna khichuri.
