The "Betopia Presents DUET Inter-University Programming Contest (IUPC) 2025" today (9 May) kicked off with enthusiasm at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, as the first day saw the successful hosting of the ICT Olympiad, drawing talented tech minds from across the country.

Brilliant students from over 100 universities and colleges across the country participated in the Olympiad, demonstrating their technical knowledge, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities, turning the competition into a true display of intellect and innovation.

The event was jointly organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and the DUET Computer Society (DUETCS). Betopia Group served as the title sponsor, while Brain Station 23 PLC supported as the co-sponsor. Media partners included ATN Bangla, The Business Standard, The Daily Campus, and the DUET Journalist Association.

The ICT Olympiad served as a key preparatory event ahead of the main programming contest, offering participants a chance to sharpen their analytical skills through a series of challenging information technology questions.

The event was formally inaugurated by Professor Dr Md Zainal Abedin, vice-chancellor of DUET, who attended as the chief guest. Professor Rafiqul Islam, head of the CSE Department and Convenor of the event, along with Assistant Professor Khaja Imran Masud, the organising secretary, also delivered remarks.

To help participants prepare further, a mock programming contest was held later in the day, giving them valuable practice before the main event scheduled for the following day.

The primary goal of DUET IUPC 2025 is to equip youth with computational thinking, foster competitive programming skills, and inspire innovation within Bangladesh's growing tech sector. More than just a competition, the event stands as a milestone in preparing future leaders for a technology-driven Bangladesh.
