Bangladesh Astronomical Association, Alliance Francaise de Dhaka hosts astronomy event on Einstein's birthday
The event featured a space photography exhibition at Gallery Zoom, showcasing astronomical photographs by Bangladeshi astrophotographers Kabir Zami, Ferdous Ahmed Rafi, and Ahnaf Safin Islam

The Bangladesh Astronomical Association and Alliance Francaise de Dhaka jointly organised a special astronomy event featuring seminars, a science photo exhibition, and a telescope observation camp yesterday (14 March).
The event commemorated the significant date of 14 March, which marks the birth anniversary of Albert Einstein and the death anniversary of Stephen Hawking. The day is also celebrated globally as Pi Day.
The programme began at 5pm with a seminar at the Alliance Francaise de Dhaka auditorium in the capital's Dhanmondi, reads a press release.
Presentations during the event included a talk on the life and work of Stephen Hawking by Nibrito Nirupon, followed by a documentary on Albert Einstein presented by Pragya Kathan. Sushrutho Oikotan delivered the final presentation on the significance of Pi Day.
The event featured a space photography exhibition at Gallery Zoom, showcasing astronomical photographs by Bangladeshi astrophotographers Kabir Zami, Ferdous Ahmed Rafi, and Ahnaf Safin Islam.

A poster design competition focusing on Einstein's life and work was also launched during the event. The exhibition of these competitive posters will continue until 21 March.
The day concluded with a telescope observation camp from 6:45pm to 8:30pm, where participants viewed Jupiter, its four galilean moons, and Mars through an 8-inch diameter Orion telescope.
Distinguished guests included M Francois Grosjean, director of Alliance Francaise de Dhaka, and Mashhurul Amin, chairman of the Bangladesh Astronomical Association. Alif Rudaba coordinated the entire program.
