Bangla Med Expo 2025 kicks off with over 100 local, global exhibitors
Medical, surgical, and diagnostic tech products take centre stage at the 3-day expo at ICCB

The Bangla Med Expo 2025 has opened in Dhaka, bringing together over 100 local and international companies to showcase cutting-edge medical, surgical, hospital equipment, diagnostic products, and healthcare innovations.
Organised by Extreme Exhibition & Event Solution Ltd, the three-day exhibition opened at 10am today at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).
Being held for the fourth consecutive time since 2022, the expo features nearly 120 companies from 10 countries, including Bangladesh, China, India, Pakistan, Taiwan, and Switzerland.
These companies represent more than 400 brands across nine major sectors: medical equipment and devices, disposables and consumables, orthopaedics and physiotherapy, imaging and diagnostics, healthcare services, IT systems, infrastructure and assets, as well as wellness and prevention.
Avijit Mondal, senior manager of the expo's organiser, Extreme Exhibition & Event Solution Ltd, told TBS that the medical sector is constantly evolving. The expo allows local and international companies to showcase innovations, learn about new technologies, and exchange ideas.
Exhibitors said the expo provides an important platform to connect with entrepreneurs and showcase their technology.
Md Razian Rabbin Ritu of Precision Medical Resources said, "We participate every year to understand buyer demands and improve our products accordingly. It's also an effective way to introduce our offerings."
Md Mohsin, assistant manager (Sales) at Islam Trading, said, "We import various products from China and India and have a joint venture with China's Sinocare. We introduced their new 'iCare1300' analyser – a Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) device used in medical diagnostics – in Bangladesh for the first time. However, the overall business environment is somewhat challenging at present."
Students are also benefiting from the exhibition. Pritam Pal, a student of Saic College of Medical Science and Technology, said, "Visiting this expo allows us to see and understand new equipment firsthand, which is why our college brought us here."
The organisers highlighted that Bangladesh's medical equipment and devices market was $442 million in 2020, expected to surpass $820 million by 2025, and could exceed $3 billion by 2030.
Currently, India and China supply 25–30% of Bangladesh's medical equipment, while Germany and the US contribute 10–15%, and Taiwan and Pakistan account for less than 3% each.
The organisers expect more than 6,500 visitors, including businesspeople, importers, doctors, hospital owners, and other healthcare professionals, over the three days. Participants include hospitals, manufacturers, importers, and distributors from Bangladesh, China, India, Pakistan, Taiwan, Switzerland, and other countries.
The expo will continue daily from 10am to 7pm until Saturday, 23 August.
