It is that time of the year again. Winter is here – the much awaited concert season, which promises a busy schedule for musicians and their fans alike. Concerts are held in various venues across the country. Artists rock the stage with their fan favourite songs, but the line-up varies depending on the type of audience and the event.

Regardless of the type of events taking place across the country, the first name that comes to mind is Faruq Mahfuz Anam, commonly known to the masses as James and his band Nagar Baul. Throughout the year, James spends a lot of time rocking concert stages both home and abroad, but it is winter that keeps the sensational rockstar busiest the most.

Compared to other seasons, Nagar Baul is always engaged in back-to-back concerts during the winter season. Since last month, he has been on a four-month long tour through various cities and districts of the country.

Meanwhile, James rocked the stage at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) on their 50th anniversary. Following through, James and his band - Nagar Baul will be doing shows in Dhaka, Chattogram, Naogaon, Rajshahi, Jassore, Barisal and in several other cities across the country.

Emphasising on the ongoing tour, Nagar Baul band manager, Rubaiyat Thakur Robin, stated that the band will be performing at Mirzapur Cadet College and Cumilla University on January 24 and 27 respectively. Other show dates are yet to be finalized.

However, Robin did add that the band will be performing in a number of concerts on the occasion of International Mother Language Day in February. Guru will finally be at ease upon crossing the Independence Day and the Bengali New Year.

Tahsan Khan, on the other hand, seems to be as busy as a bee. While reflecting on his busy schedule, he was at Bogura, on his way to Gaibandha for a concert. "I will be performing at Gaibandha today (Thursday). Then I have a show on January 11 at Dhaka Ideal College. Wrapping that up, I will fly to Dubai to take part in a concert. From Dubai, I will head towards Mexico to do a video shoot for my song. I will come back to Bangladesh on January 27. Then I will perform in a school at Chattogram on January 31." the singer added.

The concert festivities are also keeping Warfaze busy this season. Band leader and drummer Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu said they will be performing in Noakhali Zilla School on January 18. Following through, they will also be performing at Garib Newaz School of Chottogram on their 40th anniversary. "We get a lot of requests when we get up on the stage some of which include – 'Boshe Achi', 'Rupkotha', 'Na', and 'Oshamajik'," he went on to add.

Among female musicians, Akhi Alamgir is has a packed schedule this season as well. On Thursday she stated that she is doing a lot of corporate shows. Following through, she will be performing on a river cruise on January 15 and at a school in Khulna on January 22. She has a show scheduled in Chattogram as well. She said, "I cannot recall the names but I will be busy with shows till February."

Former lead vocalist of Shironamhin, Tuhin is also busy performing at concerts this season with his new band - Avash. Souls has also been performing at concerts till now and will be doing more shows through the rest of the season according to band upfront Partha Barua.

Beyond this list, new and old artists have been attending concerts regularly. Many artists like Habib Wahid are doing more private shows than open-air concerts. According several sources – Beli Afroz, Abanti Sithi, Sabbir Zaman, Imran Mahmudul along with several others are taking part in concerts regularly.
