Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi’s 'Chehre' to release on July 17

Amitabh Bachchan is gearing up for the release of three films, namely Chehre, Gulabo Sitabo and Jhund this year. While the release date of Jhund has been confirmed as May 8, the makers of Chehre and Gulabo Sitabo had been shifting theirs to avoid a clash at the box office.

Now, the makers of Chehre have revealed a new release date. The Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi-starrer will hit the screens on July 17 this year. It was earlier scheduled to be released on April 24, 2020. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the new date on Twitter.

According to his tweet, the change in the date has been requested by the makers of Gulabo Sitabo to avert a clash, as it will release on April 17. Earlier, Chehre was releasing a week after the former.

The makers have also unveiled a new glimpse of Chehre with the announcement, which features Big B and Emraan. In the picture, the actors can be seen sitting on either side of a couch in their respective character looks.

Amitabh Bachchan will essay the role of a lawyer in Chehre. He has been seen in the role of a lawyer in films like Pink (2016) and Badla (2019) earlier. On the other hand, Emraan Hashmi has been cast as a business tycoon. The thriller also stars TV actress Krystle D'Souza, Rhea Chakraborty and Siddhanth Kapoor.

Earlier, Kriti Kharbanda was also a part of the star-cast, but she quit the film after shooting a major portion of her scenes. In November 2019, it was confirmed by the official Twitter handle of the makers that they have "mutually agreed to part ways on a cordial and professional note."

This is for the first time that Amitabh Bachchan will share the screen space with Emraan Hashmi and Ayushmann Khurrana in Chehre and Gulabo Sitabo, respectively.
