S Korean ambassador-designate pays courtesy visit to PPP authority

Lee Jang-Keun, ambassador-designate of South Korea to Bangladesh recently paid a courtesy visit to Sultana Afroz, secretary and CEO of the Public Private Partnership Authority in her office in the capital.
In the meeting, the Korean envoy expressed his firm commitment to promote a stronger Korea-Bangladesh relationship through infrastructure development during his tenure.
The envoy also reaffirmed Korea's support to Bangladesh in overcoming the challenges caused by the Covid-19, said a media statement on Thursday.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Korea and Bangladesh in 1973, the two countries have witnessed bilateral cooperation in the areas of politics, economy, culture, development cooperation, and the technology transfer.
Currently, over 150 Korean companies are operating their business activities in Bangladesh, making Korea as one of the largest foreign investors in the country.
Their investments in recent years have been diversified into infrastructure, energy, and consumer goods, which is leading to a lively development of bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
They also discussed the upcoming 3rd Bangladesh-Korea Joint PPP Platform meeting, which will be held on 12 November next.
