New Chattogram Port Authority chairman takes charge
Azad, who took over as the 40th chairman, served as Chairman of the Mongla Port Authority before
Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad has taken over as the new chairman of the Chattogram Port Authority.
On Sunday, Rear Admiral Zulfiqar Aziz handed over the responsibility to Azad at the port building at 12:30 pm.
Members of the port authority, directors and heads of various departments were present on the occasion.

Azad, who took over as the 40th chairman of the port, served as Chairman of the Mongla Port Authority before. He handed over the responsibility to the new chairman there last Thursday.
On March 22, the Ministry of Public Administration issued an order to appoint Azad as the new chairman of Chattogram port.
Meanwhile, former chairman Azizwho took over the post in 2018 has been posted in the Armed Forces Division.
Azad, son of Sheikh Osman Goni and Khadeza Begum, was born on April 30, 1967, in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia district.
He joined the Bangladesh Navy in January 1985 and was commissioned in the executive branch.
In recognition of his professionalism and distinguished service in the Bangladesh Navy, he was awarded the "Nou Gaurab Padak".
