BSCIC Chairman calls for easy loans for light engineering entrepreneurs

He made the call on Saturday while speaking as the chief guest at a workshop titled ‘Implementation and development of sub-contracting connectivity between small, medium and large-scale industries.’

BSCIC Chairman calls for easy loans for light engineering entrepreneurs
Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Chairman Mustaque Hassan has called for easy-term loans for the entrepreneurs of the industry. 
 
He said, "The light engineering industry is the bedrock of industrialisation. To build an industrialised Bangladesh by 2041, as announced by the Prime Minister, the light engineering industry is critical."
 
"BSCIC has already undertaken a mega plan for the development of the light engineering industry. Under this plan, several industry-parks will be built in important districts, including Rajshahi, Bogura, Narsingdi, Munshiganj, Jessore."
 
BSCIC Chairman said the light engineering industry can be developed by disbursing loans on easy terms to entrepreneurs.  
 
Mustaque Hassan made the remarks on Saturday while speaking as the chief guest of a workshop titled
 
'Implementation and development of sub-contracting connectivity between small, medium and large-scale industries.'
 
The workshop, organized by the Industrial Support Center, BSCIC, Rajshahi in collaboration with the BSCIC Skills and Technology Department, aims to bridge the gap between spare parts manufacturers and purchasing companies.
 
The workshop was chaired by Zafar Bayazid, deputy general manager of BSCIC Rajshahi, and Muhammad Ataur Rahman Siddiqui, director (Engineering and Project Implementation) of BSCIC Dhaka was present as a special guest.
 
Md Mohiuddin, deputy general manager, Department of Skills and Technology, BSCIC Dhaka delivered the keynote address.
 
Md Mamunur Rashid, regional director of BSCIC Rajshai and Md Shafiqul Islam, president of National Association of Small Cottage Industries of Bangladesh (NASCIB), Rajshai attended the workshop as discussants.
 
Representatives of spare parts companies like Bangladesh Railway (Western Region), Rajshahi Jute Mills and Rajshahi Sugar Mills Limited, Rajshahi WASA participated in the workshop.
 
Meanwhile, representatives of 16 spare parts manufacturers including Sarkar Brothers, Brishti Corporation, Lucky Engineering Works participated in the workshop. 
 
Participants discussed the issues and potential of the light engineering industry in Rajshahi.
