Finance ministry forms 5-member committee to assess Dhaka airport fire damage
The NBR too, has taken special measures to ensure that import-export activities at the Dhaka Customs House continue smoothly despite the fire incident

The finance ministry has formed a five-member committee to assess the overall losses caused by the devastating fire at the cargo village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today (18 October).
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, the committee will determine the extent of the damage and submit a report to the government as soon as possible.
The committee is headed by Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Patwary, joint secretary of the Internal Resources Division (IRD).
Other members include Md Raich Uddin Khan and Md Tarek Hasan, both first secretaries of the National Board of Revenue (NBR); Muhammad Kamrul Hasan, joint commissioner of Dhaka Customs House; and Pankaj Barua, deputy secretary of the IRD, who will act as member secretary.

The blaze reportedly broke out around 2:15pm at a courier warehouse within the cargo village area, causing significant damage to stored goods.
