Young innovators showcase ai skills in national olympiad round

The Bangladesh national selection round for the IAIO 2026 showcased the country's top student talent in artificial intelligence, reaffirming Bangladesh's growing commitment to international excellence.
The event was held on Saturday, 11 October 2025, at the Institute of Information Technology (IIT), University of Dhaka.
Organised by the Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN), the five-hour Kaggle Challenge brought together some of the brightest students from across the country. They solved real-life problems using artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision.
The competition was open to students from Class 6 to HSC 2025, as well as fourth-semester polytechnic students. It offered participants the opportunity to demonstrate creativity and technical skills in practical problem-solving.
Top contestants from this round will progress to the forthcoming IAIO Grooming Camp, where they will receive advanced training and mentorship to prepare for the international stage. Selected finalists will later join Bangladesh Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (BdAIO) winners to represent Bangladesh at IAIO 2026 in Slovenia.
The event began with participant registration at 8am, followed by the main contest at 9am, and concluded at 2pm.
At the IAIO 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh made its debut and distinguished itself by winning two silver and two bronze medals, underlining the nation's emerging position in global artificial intelligence education.
This year's participants are focused on building upon that legacy, aiming to further elevate Bangladesh's profile in global artificial intelligence competitions.
