Young Innovators recognised at bdapps award night
The bdapps Award Night 2026 convened top mobile app developers, emerging innovators, and industry leaders in Dhaka, recognising outstanding contributions to Bangladesh's digital ecosystem and launching a nationwide bootcamp for aspiring developers.
Md Saiful Islam, a student at Northern University of Business and Technology, Khulna, was named Campus Ambassador Champion for fostering a vibrant campus community and championing digital innovation among students.
Farah Sayeed Abdul Bari received the She Squad Champion award for advancing women's participation in technology. Muhammad Tawseef Hossain of Barishal was recognised as Emerging Individual Developer 2025, while the app Biye Bondhu, developed by Abu Bakar Siddique of Chattogram, was named Emerging App of 2025.
The event also saw the launch of the National Android Development Bootcamp (NADB), inaugurated by Mohammad Showkat Kader Chowdhury, head of marketing at Robi Axiata PLC, to nurture the next generation of app developers.
The two-month bootcamp will equip young developers with technical and business training, mentorship, and practical experience. A dedicated website offers further information for prospective participants seeking to build a career in mobile app development.
A panel discussion, 'Youth-led Innovation: Driving Bangladesh's Digital Future', addressed skill development and the evolving landscape of the technology sector.
Panellists included Shourov Barua, chief operating officer of Ostad; Manik Lal Das, director at Robi Axiata PLC; Mohammad Shahriar Khan, founder of ICT Olympiad; and Taneem Islam, co-founder and chief executive officer of Miaki. Md Altamis Nabil, head of managed services at Miaki, moderated the session.
Other attendees included Shafiq Shamsur Razzaq, general manager at Robi Axiata PLC; Fatema Nashrah, manager; and Khan Mahamuda Maliha, senior associate.
