Walton achieves milestone with us-bound motherboard exports
Walton has begun exporting motherboards (PCB and PCBA) to the United States for the first time, marking a new milestone for Bangladesh's high-tech manufacturing sector.
World-standard motherboards will be used in advanced security devices for gunshot detection and emergency response systems manufactured in the US. Walton is initially shipping more than 2,500 units, valued at around Tk2.5 million, to Wisconsin-based SafePro Technologies Inc. Walton already exports "Made in Bangladesh" electronics to over 50 countries.
A ceremony was held on 15 September at Walton's corporate office in Dhaka to mark the occasion. Fayez Ahmed Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser and head of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, attended as the chief guest. ICT Division Secretary Shish Hayder Chowdhury also attended as a special guest.
Also in attendance were Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Chairman SM Shamsul Alam, Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd Chairman SM Rezaul Alam, Managing Director SM Monjurul Alam Ovi, Walton Micro-Tech Corporation CEO Nishat Tasnim Shuchi, and Adil Hossain Nobel, MD and CEO of Exentek. Paul L Eckert, Founder and President of SafePro Technologies, joined online.
During the event, Walton introduced its eco-friendly Takyon electric bikes. These two models offer modern designs, powerful motors, and long-lasting batteries, operating at a cost of only 10–15 poisha per kilometre, making them smart and sustainable transport options for both urban and rural areas.
