US tariff changes spark discussion on apparel export strategies

Tech Cargo LLC and Capital 4 Trade, a US-based logistics and trade finance company, jointly organised a special seminar on the impact of recent US tariff changes on Bangladesh's garment industry and the strategic responses required.
The seminar took place on 15 October 2025 at Beyond Buffet, Mirpur-1, Dhaka, bringing together key industry representatives, exporters and trade experts.
Distinguished guests included Abdul Rauf Babu, General Member of BGMEA; Md Roman Mia, Joint Secretary of BGBA; Mortoza Habib Chowdhury, Director of TEAM AM Bangladesh Ltd; Ernesto Villa, CEO of Tech Cargo and Capital 4 Trade; and Rashedul Alam, Country Manager of the two organisations.
The discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities for Bangladesh's apparel exports amid changing US tariff policies and explored innovative logistics and trade-finance solutions to strengthen export competitiveness.
Speakers also outlined how Tech Cargo and Capital 4 Trade are helping Bangladeshi exporters with simplified financing, faster cargo management and effective risk mitigation tools.
Members of BGMEA and BGBA attended the event, which was organised by Rashedul Alam, Country Manager of Tech Cargo LLC and Capital 4 Trade.
The organisers expressed hope that the seminar would provide actionable insights to help Bangladesh's apparel industry enhance global competitiveness through innovation, efficiency and financial inclusion.
