United Commercial Bank PLC appoints Dr. A. R. Chowdhury as chairman of the board and Mr. Bashir Ahmed as executive committee chairman
Dr. Aparup Chowdhury, an independent director of UCB, has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of United Commercial Bank PLC at a board meeting held on Tuesday at the bank's head office.
Additionally, Mr. Bashir Ahmed has been elected as the Chairman of the Executive Committee.
Dr. Aparup Chowdhury previously served as a Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh.

Mr. Bashir Ahmed is also the Managing Director of several companies including Airmet Goody Electrical Industries Limited, Goody Accessories (Private) Limited, International Distribution Company Bangladesh (Private) Limited, B&B Electronics, B&B Food and Beverage, B&B Electrical and Electronics, Dhaka Electrical and Electronics, Bird International Metal Emporium, and Petal Enterprise.
