Unilever Bangladesh named most sustainable company of the year

Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL) has been awarded the titles of 'Most Sustainable Company of the Year' and 'Most Sustainable FMCG Company of the Year' at the SDG Brand Champion Awards 2025, reaffirming its position as a corporate leader in sustainability and social impact.
Organised by the Bangladesh Brand Forum, the awards recognise brands driving positive change across the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UBL secured the highest number of recognitions, including wins in six other categories for its impactful community and environmental initiatives.
In the 'Sustainable Partnerships and Institutions' category, UBL was honoured for its "Domex and Bhumijo's Fight Against Poor Sanitation" project. In 'Sustainable Community', it was recognised for "Empowering the Youth in Volunteerism", while "Waste Workers' Livelihood Enhancement in Chattogram" earned praise in the 'Decent Work and Economic Growth' category.
UBL also received honourable mentions for "Responsible Sourcing for a Greener Tomorrow" under 'Responsible Consumption and Production', and "Sustainability in Motion: Towards a Greener Tomorrow" in the 'Climate and Environment' category.
Zinnia Tanzina Huq, Chief Financial Officer & Finance Director, accepted the awards on behalf of Unilever Bangladesh, alongside other senior officials, at the Bangladesh Sustainable Summit.
With 39.25% government ownership and a history of over six decades in Bangladesh, UBL continues to embed sustainability across its operations. Since 2020, the company has positively impacted the lives of approximately 120 million people, advancing progress across 13 of the 17 UN SDGs.
The recognition, the second consecutive year of significant wins for UBL at the SDG Brand Champion Awards, highlights its long-term commitment to improving quality of life, fostering inclusive growth, and protecting the environment through sustainable business practices.
