DUCC expo guides students on overseas study
Dhaka University Career Club (DUCC) hosted its flagship event, Study Abroad Expo 8.0, at the University of Dhaka's Teacher-Student Centre auditorium on 13 May.
The daylong programme ran from 10am to 5pm.
The event brought together students and prospective applicants seeking international education opportunities.
The expo connected leading overseas education agencies with attendees, offering expert advice on university applications, scholarships, and visa procedures.
The Business Standard and TBS Graduates served as the event's print and online media partners.
Shezan Mango Fruit Drink and Dairyland Lassee were the beverage partners.
Stall partners included KMF Global Education Ltd, Student Career Consultancy, NWC Education, H&I Council, Education Connect, Education@, StudyNet, EN Global Education Ltd, PacAsia, and Keeron.
The opening session commenced at 11am, with DUCC President Dewan Md Madhurjjo, General Secretary Rafid Bin Reazuddin, and representatives from stall partners, including StudyNet and PacAsia, releasing a pair of white pigeons symbolising peace and optimism for the future.
A fair was held as part of the expo, featuring participation from major agencies.
Participating agencies showcased their services and study opportunities, providing consultations to prospective students.
The closing ceremony began at 4:30pm, led by DUCC Assistant General Secretary Musarrat Jahan Esha.
She invited DUCC President Dewan Md Madhurjjo and General Secretary Rafid Bin Reazuddin to present souvenir crests to the stall partners.
Stall partners were called to the stage individually to receive their crests.
DUCC President Dewan Md Madhurjjo delivered brief remarks, expressing gratitude to stakeholders and the executive committee for organising a successful event.
He concluded by expressing hope to welcome participants again at Study Abroad Expo 9.0.
