UNDP Bangladesh launches season 2 of SDG socializers
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Bangladesh has launched Season 2 of SDG Socializers, bringing together a new cohort of content creators to generate conversations and inspire action around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through creative and engaging storytelling.
The initiative aims to translate complex development challenges into simple, relatable and accessible content, connecting global goals with everyday life. Building on the success of the first season, the new cohort includes content creators, artists, activists, educators, athletes and digital storytellers from diverse backgrounds.
Through their platforms, the SDG Socializers will highlight key development issues and encourage audiences to reflect on how the SDGs relate to their own communities, choices and actions.
Welcoming the participants, Stefan Liller, resident representative of UNDP Bangladesh, said the SDGs can only be achieved if people see themselves reflected in them. He said creative storytelling plays a crucial role in making global goals personal, local and actionable.
Md Abdul Quayyum, head of communications at UNDP Bangladesh, said that with only a few years remaining to achieve the SDGs, development communication must go beyond awareness. He said the SDG Socializers initiative aims to motivate people to take action by creating content that resonates with lived experiences.
Through SDG Socializers, UNDP Bangladesh continues to promote innovative and people-centred approaches to development communication, leveraging digital platforms and creative voices to foster greater public engagement with the SDGs.
