UIU hosts first-ever Islamic seminar on moral values and education

United International University (UIU) hosted UIU Islamic Seminar 2025 on Tuesday at 5:30pm at its campus in United City, Madani Avenue, Dhaka. This landmark event was the first of its kind organized by UIU.
Dr AFM Khalid Hossain, adviser, Ministry of Religious Affairs, was present as the chief guest. Sheikh Ahmadullah, chairman, As-Sunnah Foundation, and Prof Mokhter Ahmad, director, Daffodil Islamic Centre, attended as special guests. The seminar was presided over by UIU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia.
Dr AFM Khalid Hossain said that society should be built on the liberal moral ideals of Islam, urging people to work together beyond religious and caste differences to advance the country. He also expressed hope that the youth would play a key role in shaping a better Bangladesh in the future.
Sheikh Ahmadullah advised young people, especially university students, to focus on character building and draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).
Prof Mokhter Ahmad emphasized the respect and dignity Islam assigns to student-teacher relationships. He also elaborated on the role and significance of Islamic principles in strengthening these bonds.
The event was attended by faculty members, students, officials, academicians, senior government officials, Islamic scholars, journalists, and other distinguished guests.
