UIU APP Forum organises industry visit to Microsoft Bangladesh

UIU APP Forum, a wing of the Career Counseling Center (CCC) of United International University (UIU), organised an industry visit to Microsoft Bangladesh on 13 September. The visit aimed to strengthen academia-industry linkages and provide students with practical insights into emerging technologies.
A total of 23 students from the Department of CSE, Department of Data Science, BASIS Students' Forum UIU Chapter, and UIU Advanced Underwater Robotics & Automation (UIU AURA) participated in the visit.
Md. Yousup Faruqu, Managing Director & Country Director of Microsoft Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, discussed the long-term impact of AI on businesses and employment, highlighting opportunities in AI agent development, MLOps, and AI governance. Farzana Afrin Tisha, Cloud Data & AI Security Lead, showcased Microsoft's 360° platform, including Copilot, Power Platform, Azure AI, and enterprise security solutions. Students were also introduced to initiatives such as the Microsoft Imagine Cup and the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub.
The visit is expected to enhance students' practical knowledge, entrepreneurship skills, and understanding of industry practices, while promoting collaboration between academia and the technology sector.
