UIU CSE degree gains global accreditation recognition
United International University's Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering (BSCSE) programme has secured prestigious Washington Accord accreditation, marking a significant milestone for engineering education in Bangladesh.
The accreditation, conferred through the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE) under the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), is valid for six years, from 3 December 2023 to 2 December 2029.
This recognition positions UIU's BSCSE programme among internationally recognised engineering institutions, affirming that its graduates meet rigorous quality standards on par with those of leading universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
UIU stated that the milestone will significantly enhance global mobility, career prospects, and higher education opportunities for CSE graduates within the accredited period, positioning them as internationally competitive engineering professionals.
By adhering to Washington Accord standards, UIU said it ensures its curriculum, faculty, and facilities deliver a world-class learning environment. The programme is designed to equip students with the critical skills, knowledge, and competencies demanded by today's global technology sector.
The achievement, according to the university, reflects the commitment of the UIU community and further strengthens its standing in engineering education.
Beyond immediate academic and professional benefits, UIU said the accreditation reinforces the university's commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 4 on quality education.
