UIU BBA students present business innovations aligned with SDGs
The BBA Programme of the School of Business and Economics (SoBE) at United International University (UIU) successfully organised the "Entrepreneurship Project Show – Summer 2025" at the university campus yesterday, celebrating the creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial potential of undergraduate business students.
Mr Iqbal Bahar Zahid, Director and CEO of Optimax Communication Ltd., Managing Director of Aladinkids, and President and Founder of Nijer Bolar Moto Ekta Golpo Foundation, attended the event as Chief Guest, while Professor Dr Salma Karim, Director of the BBA Programme, SoBE, UIU, was present as Special Guest. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia, Vice-Chancellor of UIU.
The initiative was led by Ms Nasrin Akter, Assistant Professor, SoBE, and Mr Jakowan, Assistant Professor and Deputy Director at IQAC, UIU.
Part of the core course "Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Development", the project show enabled students to design and present innovative business ideas and prototypes. Participants developed product models, websites, promotional videos, and full business plans aimed at addressing challenges linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The final showcase featured 20 teams comprising around 100 students, who presented startup concepts across diverse sectors. Three teams were awarded Champion, 1st Runner-up, and 2nd Runner-up titles, receiving crests, while all participants were presented with certificates of appreciation from the distinguished guests.
The event highlighted UIU's ongoing commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, creativity, and sustainability-driven business solutions among the next generation of business leaders in Bangladesh.
